The Great Porn Debate
April 21, 2008
Press Release
Blue Devil Productions is proud to present “The Great Porn Debate”, featuring Ron Jeremy and Pastor Craig Gross. The debate will take place Monday, April 21st at 7:30 pm in the Great Hall, located in the upper level of the Memorial Student Center.
Adult entertainment is a $12 billion industry in the United States. While it is apparent that pornography is popular, is it healthy? Is it an addictive and destructive habit, or is it a window to a fun fantasy world? Ron Jeremy and Craig Gross will take part in a moderated debate on the subject. After the debate a question and answer session with the audience will follow.
Ron Jeremy is listed in the Guinness Book of Records for “Most Appearances in Adult Film,” starring in over 1,900 films and directing over 250 more. Before getting into the adult entertainment industry, Jeremy graduated from Queens College in New York with bachelor’s degrees in theatre and education. He went on to obtain a master’s degree in special education at the same institution. Upon graduation, he became a special education teacher in the New York area. He has also appeared in films such as The Boondock Saints and Detroit Rock City and was a consultant for the film Boogie Nights. In 2007, Jeremy released a book of memoirs titled Ron Jeremy: The Hardest (Working) Man in Showbiz.
Craig Gross is a pastor from Southern California and is also the founder of XXXchurch.com, the largest anti-porn website on the internet. XXXchurch.com has been featured in Time, The Today Show, Good Morning America, CBS Evening News, and the New York Times. This debate has been showcased at the National Association for Campus Activities national conference. Most recently this debate was hosted at Yale as part of an episode of ABC News’ Nightline.
