Press Release
Blue Devil Productions is proud to present Irie Sol with The Limns playing as a part of the STOUTNIC picnic. The artists are scheduled to perform at the University of Wisconsin-Stout on Thursday, April 24, 2008 at 6 p.m. on the lawn in front of the Merle Price Commons, Rainsite MPR.
Irie Sol blends together funk, hip-hop, reggae, ska, blues, rock, and jazz to produce a delicious musical experience. The band member’s diverse backgrounds and upbringings spanning Canada, Jamaica, Korea, the east coast, and Midwest help create this seamless fusion of genres. Melodic vocals and an explosive horn section enforce Irie Sol’s reggae roots.
Supporting Irie Sol and returning to Stout for the third time will be Minneapolis’ The Limns. “The Limns have an upbeat, reggae style of music that definitely can bring life to a dead room.” Their buoyant rhythms and catchy lyrics are upbeat and easy to dance to. The Limns took home the prize last year at the Minnesota State Fair Talent competition with their song “Speak it Up.” Irie Sol, The Limns, and the Stoutnic picnic will be a perfect blend of summery beats and good eats; this is an event you do not want to miss.
This is a Blue Devil Lounge Concert Series event sponsored by Blue Devil Productions of the University of Wisconsin-Stout. This event is FREE for all. Please call (715) 232-2432 or go to bdp.uwstout.edu for more information.
