6pm & 9pm| 210 Applied Arts

Blue Devil Productions is proud to present the film "True Grit" at the University of Wisconsin – Stout on Friday, March 25th, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. in Applied Arts, room 210.

Following the murder of her father, 14-year-old farm girl Mattie Ross (Hailee Steinfeld) sets out to capture his killer. To aid her, she hires the toughest U.S. marshal she can find, a man with "true grit," Reuben J. "Rooster" Cogburn (Jeff Bridges). Mattie insists on accompanying Cogburn, whose drinking, sloth, and generally reprobate character does not augment her faith in him. Against his wishes, she joins him in his trek into the Indian Nations in search for her father’s killer. Texas Ranger, LaBoeuf (Matt Damon) joins Mattie and Cogburn. For his own purposes, LaBoeuf is also searching for Mattie’s father’s killer. The unlikely trio encounters danger and surprises on their journey, and each has his or her "grit" tested.

This event is sponsored by Blue Devil Productions of the University of Wisconsin – Stout and is FREE to the public. This is part of the Blue Devil Productions film series. "True Grit" is rated R for some intense sequences of western violence including disturbing images. For more information please call (715)-232-2432 or go to bdp.uwstout.edu.
